Whether you’re interested in the creative, technical or business aspect of radio, television or web-based media, the two-year Broadcasting – Radio and Contemporary Media program offers the practical experience you need to excel in this fast-paced industry. Through community involvement and hands-on learning opportunities, you will explore traditional and emerging broadcasting methods, as well as marketing, entrepreneurial and management techniques. 48-Hour Film Challenge This fall you (and all of the students in your program) will participate in the second annual MAD 48–hour Film Challenge beginning on Tuesday October 10th, 2017! Over 500 students will participate in this year’s Challenge, under guidance from 38 staff and faculty. Here’s how it works: We’ll mix you and your colleagues all into small interdisciplinary groups with other participating MAD programs, so you’ll have the opportunity to meet students from a variety of disciplines across the School. A line of dialogue, a genre, a prop and a character type will be assigned to each group and must appear in your short film. Expectations and technical details will be discussed at a meeting in C113 on Tuesday, October 10th. The time of your specific meeting will be announced in class and posted on DC Connect (our online learning management system).
